Despite foot pain and working overtime trying to get books to printers, we found the time and painkillers to take a trek to Taunton! Getting there about an hour later than planned, we still had a blast!
On such a beautiful day, it was only natural to find a fine young garter snake first!
The grass was alive with movement and we couldn't find the source. Finally, this fella jumped into the open...
Tiny pickerel frogs were all over the place! 'Twas the season to be froggy.
Small frogs or not, this youngster couldn't even think about such a meal yet...
So small, but such a beauty! Almost like a granite design... here's how he looked crawling on concrete!
He was to be our last snake of the day but the pickerels were abundant...
As were ridiculously small toads!
Redbacks were also around, despite the fairly warm day...
Painted turtles were also enjoying the sun, as they usually do!
Now that's a helluva stack!
One spot on the trail that has never yielded ANYTHING was full of young green frogs this day!
This guy has to grow into his head...
Andrea's crude penis graffiti collection grew by one more with this gem...
And in the parking lot as we were leaving, this bunny came to bid us farewell.
A fine day of herping, penising and bunnying!
How many turtles on that stack? Seven?
ReplyDeleteGood call... looks like 7!
