How June Ended. 6-25-2023

It was sticky hot and we went to our Green Snake Place at noon. We were soaked with sweat before you could say "boo". We saw no snakes, so we sat for a while watching birds and hoping for a breeze from the bay. We tried our best but any snakes, Green or otherwise, were keeping cool way out of sight.

Driving home, we decided to visit our chelonian friends at the cemetery. Even though we see pretty much the same turtles every time, we see something and that's what makes us happy. As usual, Red-ears dominated.

We started to walk around the pond, Andrea in a brace. A Snapper that we don't know by name was swimming nearby.

Our friend, the real Whitey came by to see if we had any handouts.

It was super hot and turtles were basking everywhere. A Red-ear and a Painter up near the edge.

A couple more Ears of Red. (When you buy a pet turtle for your filthy little brat at Petco, it is a lifetime commitment, you moron.)

Always a welcome sight, a young Bullfrog.

A Snapper was nearby, cruising with the low-riders.

The Yellow-belly was where he usually is, near the edge in a shallow corner. I'll bet he digs the warmer water.

Two examples of very happy Red-ears. Maybe it was best that the bad pet-owners dumped them here.

And this is the end of June, Painted Turtle style.

  1. Hi Guys: Hope all is well with you. You sure do have a lot of RES out your way. I found a wood turtle today, so that made my day. Catch up with you soon.
